Your Hometown Recommendations

I just moved from Cleveland to Charlotte, NC this month and I’m excited to find new places. One restaurant we like so far is Barrel and Fork. If anyone knows the area and has recommendations to share, thank you!

I live in beautiful Sauk City, WI. We have an amazing community that offers outdoor and cultural options.

  1. Visit Devil’s Lake State Park. This is the most visited Sate Park in Wisconsin, it has camping, hiking, climbing, swimming and natural beauty.
  2. Visit Wollersheim Winery and Distillery.
  3. Visit the very first Culver’s. Sauk City is home to the very first Culvers, and their headquarters is located here. Get a ButterBurger, Cheese Curds and flavor of the day Custard.

I’m in Memphis, TN and we are “Home of the Blues & Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, also home to Graceland and Beale Street if you want to feel close to Elvis or listen to the Blue as you walk the streets. We’re known for our Memphis in May BBQ Festival but lots of other great events throughout Memphis and neighboring towns.

I live in Addison, TX and there are so many reasons to live in the Addison/ Dallas area. Below are just a few off the top of my list:

  • Restaurant Row in Addison - over 100 restaurants on a 3-mile stretch across beltline so you never have to worry about running out of new options.
  • Shopping - Being so central located in the Dallas market, you can literally hit the galleria in under 3 minutes, or travel just a little further the opposite direction and you have the shops of Legacy, Stonebriar Mall and that’s just to name a few.
  • I also think some of the can’t miss attractions would have to be al the pop-up museum like exhibits like Pop, Museum of illusion and things of that nature. Those types of businesses keep things fun and imaginative.
There are so many new things to do in Addison / Dallas and it changes consistently so you never have a chance to get bored or used to it. That’s one of the many reason I moved her and chose it as my new home this past July.

Hello! I’m from Ft. Smith, AR and there are two can’t miss places if you’re ever around.

  1. Benson’s. It is the best food you’ll ever have if you’re ever in need of a late night meal!
  2. Fort Chaffee Barber Shop. Elvis was stationed at Fort Chaffee and got his haircut at the barbershop on base. It is still open and people stop by to get their hair cuts in the same chair as Elvis all the time!

Hello Everyone

I am David Hart from the UK

Come to England and visit Kent and East Sussex there is so much to do in and around where I live (Royal Tunbridge Wells) https://visittunbridgewells.com

Eating Out:
Try the Lyle Tunbridge Wells https://www.thelyle.co.uk/

Place to Visit
The Pantiles https://thepantiles.com/centre-information/

Things to Do:
Go to Bewl Water Reservoir https://www.bewlwater.co.uk/

all within a 10 mile radius and if you want to go a little further London is a 50 minute train ride and the seaside is 45 minutes in the car !!

I am a lucky man !

I live in Vacaville, Ca about 20 miles east of the Napa Valley. Some fun things to do around here:

  1. Wine tasting! There are many local wineries in the area so finding a tasting room is easily found and fun! Artesa, Berryessa Gap and V. Sattui are some of my favs!
  2. Lake Berryessa: One of California’s biggest man made reservoirs. There are a few resorts on the lake where you can rent jet skis or boats but boating is definitely my favorite!
  3. Jelly Belly Factory! Its just down the freeway from me in Fairfield, Ca. A fun attraction and tasty too!
  4. Vacaville’s main attraction would be the Premium Outlets for shopping or the Nut Tree Shopping center!

We are also centrally located about 50 miles to San Francisco and about an hour away to the mountains or snow in the winter time! Its a great location but the summers are definitely hot!

Gina,

I would be in BIG trouble if I lived anywhere near the Jelly Belly Factory! I envy your proximity to the Premium Outlets. Vacaville sounds great! Thanks for sharing.

Grape Fest (in Grapevine, TX) will be happening from Thursday, September 15th to Sunday, September 18th
Don’t miss it!

I’m located in Dallas, TX. My three favorite recommendations would be:

  1. Going to concerts at The Factory in Deep Ellum. It’s a medium-large venue, so big names come through there but still gives an intimate feel.
  2. Plenty of places to eat. I’m an avid Yelp-er, so I love finding hidden treasures!
  3. State Fair of Texas. It’s once a year, so if you’re visiting Dallas in Oct, you’ll want to experience it!

Cassie-I grew up in Elgin! I like your picks for the Chicago area. I was just back last week and had a lot of fun apple picking so would add that to the list!

Now I am in Scottsdale, AZ and would recommend the following.
1-Visit the Desert Botanical Gardens. Great way to see all kinds of Cacti right in the middle of town.
2-Go tubing (floating in innertubes) down the Salt River. If you’re lucky you’ll see Wild Horses.
3-Go to a Spring Training game. The weather is always perfect and it’s usually snowing in most of the rest of the country in March!

When in Omaha - go visit the Henry Doorly Zoo! It is one of the best ones in the world, believe it or not!

Also try to get in a visit to watch the College World Series - it’s always a good time!

Those are great reco’s @eric.matulka! I have to ask, are Chili and Cinnamon Rolls a thing where you live?? I’ve seen so much buzz around that lately :joy:

Yes, I grew up with them as a cold winter staple meal both at home and for school lunches!!

I’m from Williamsport, PA! If you’re here in August, enjoy the Little League World Series. If you’re here any other time, enjoy the beautiful scenery, awesome local eateries and hike our mountains!

I live in Montana. Our favorite thing to do here is hike up to the mountains or to different lakes.

Im located in the DMV. DC Maryland Virginia area and I specifically love to go to restaraunts and as of today I am addicted to a quaint little pandemic born place called HIS & HERS in DC. Great brunch dishes as well as a welcoming atmosphere.
